How To Enroll

The motto for American River Charter School is:

          ARCS kids are

       Caring, and

ARCS teachers, staff, and parents have received training in the new PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) program which encourages students to be their best while at school. We have explored each of these three qualities carefully during the first semester and students have improved their skills for being respectful, caring, and safe wherever they are on campus. To encourage students to be their best, a system of rewards has been implemented which students have very much enjoyed. More than 2000 tickets were handed out during the 2015-16 school year. Well done, ARCS students!!! This has resulted in a much more peaceful campus and happier students and teachers. For the 2017-18 school year we added a Student Store, where students can 'cash in' these PBIS tickets for toys, school supplies and other fun things!!

What is PBIS?
is a framework or approach for assisting school personnel in adopting and organizing evidence-based behavioral interventions into an integrated continuum that enhances academic and social behavior outcomes for all students.

PBIS is NOT a packaged curriculum, scripted intervention, or manualized strategy.

PBIS IS a prevention-oriented way for school personnel to (a) organize evidence-based practices, (b) improve their implementation of those practices, and (c) maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students.

PBIS supports the success of ALL students.
