Welcome Friends of American River Charter School,
Where Everyone is Welcome and Help is Always Needed!

Welcome to your school community!  In an effort to support American River Charter School many parents and community members assemble together in the interest of building community and planning events.  Friends of ARCS is a Parent Club that depends on parent volunteers! Some of the things we do include:

  • Fundraising
  • Organizing Enrichment Programs
  • Planning After-School Events

We are a community volunteer group, separate from the school, consisting of parents, guardians, and other community members dedicated to supporting ARCS through planning, organizing and assisting with school and community fundraising and social events.  We are open to anyone interested in supporting ARCS through volunteer efforts and donation.  We have established officers and the Friends Fund account in order to manage donated funds and we have a working relationship with Ready By 21, a local 501c3 Corporation (RB21) to handle larger gifts.

We are currently brainstorming and planning  fall  and winter events and invite anyone interested to participate. Volunteering (children and adults) at a fundraising event is a great way to support and get to know the ARCS community and the larger community in which we live.   As a part of our vision to serve the school, we  are a Georgetown Divide Recreation District Community Partner.

Friends of ARCS  is approved for the e-Scrip program.  E-Scrip and hundreds of merchant partners have created a system that rewards customer loyalty by contributing a percentage of purchases to your chosen group.  There is no mark up on products, or additional donation amounts added in to your purchase. You shop the way you normally shop for groceries, clothing, travel, entertainment, etc, and they take a percentage of what you spent at their store and send ARCS the money.  It’s simple and convenient, all you need to do is register your grocery club card and debit/credit card(s).

Please join us in financially assisting ARCS through e-Scrip by signing up:

Go to:  www.escrip.com and click “sign up”'

Link your grocery club card and debit/credit card(s)
Use “Friends of American River Charter School” or group # 50024445

That's all you have to do!

There are several familiar merchants including but not limited to:
Marvel, Big O Tires, Safeway, Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op and Round Table Pizza.  There are hundreds of participating online retailers including eBay and signing up takes about 5 minutes.  If you are already supporting another school through e-Scrip please add ARCS as it is possible to have three designated groups on your list, and all at no cost to you!

For more information please contact our Parent Chairperson, Jen York.   If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Jen at friendsarcs@gmail.com or call the school at (530) 333-8340.

We encourage you to contact us if you are interested in planning, volunteering or have questions regarding our fundraising efforts.  We have monthly meetings and everyone is invited to attend. This is a great way to help fulfill your required family volunteer hours!  Please watch the ARCS website, your email and The Georgetown Divide Recreation District Partners’ Post for updates and news!  We will periodically send updates and calls for volunteers for specific events.

Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!
